Located on the banks of the River Aare, this is one of the most popular Interlaken hotels on the lake or river. It is just a short walk from the centre of Interlaken and Lake Brienz.

Carlton-Europe Vintage Adults Hotel

Useful things to know about Interlaken
Interlaken Visitor’s Tax
All guests staying at hotels and lodgings in Switzerland are required to pay a Visitor’s Tax, also known as a Swiss Tourist Tax, and Interlaken is no exception.
Rates vary depending on the standard of accommodation and the season of travel (summer or winter) and range from around CHF 2.20 to CHF 3.50 per person per night.
The Visitor Tax is not always included in the nightly room rate so check with your hotel if you are unsure.
Interlaken Guest Card
In return for paying the Visitor’s Tax, guests of Interlaken hotels and pensions (B&Bs) are provided with a Guest Card which offers numerous benefits and discounts throughout the entire region including free public transport and discounted tickets for mountain trips.
If you plan on spending a few days in the region, it is worth considering purchasing a Jungfrau Travel Pass or Berner Oberland Pass as these cover public transport and many mountain railways and cable cars in the area.

Interlaken is located in the Canton of Bern and is easy to reach from all parts of Switzerland by either car or train. It is 45 kilometres from Bern, 70 kilometres from Lucerne, 120 kilometres from Zurich and 220 kilometres from Geneva.

Frequent trains service Interlaken from all over Switzerland with regular connections to surrounding towns and villages in the Berner Oberland region. Most intercity trains arrive and depart from Interlaken Ost station.
Trains operate between Interlaken Ost and Interlaken West stations – journey time is 3 minutes. To walk between stations, allow around 25 minutes to cover the 1.6 kilometres.
You can also travel to Interlaken aboard the GoldenPass Line. This panoramic train journey connects Interlaken with both Montreux and Lucerne.
