Carolyn Schönafinger first visited Switzerland over 30 years ago and it was love at first sight! Since then, she has made it her mission to explore as much of the country as possible and (except when Covid curtails her plans) she visits every year.
With a background as a travel consultant and more than a dozen years experience editing a European travel website, Carolyn created the Switzerland Travel Planning Facebook group in 2018, followed by the Holidays to Switzerland website in 2019 and the Holidays to Switzerland Travel Podcast in 2020.
When she can’t be in Switzerland, Carolyn loves nothing more than writing about it and sharing advice from her own Swiss travel experiences with her audience.

Carolyn was a guest of Switzerland Tourism at the 2012 Swiss Travel Mart in Zurich, and has worked on numerous other campaigns with various regional tourist offices and travel providers.
