Bern Visitor Tax
All overnight guests in Bern are required to pay a nightly Tourist Tax (Kurtaxe). Rates vary depend on the type of accommodation and star rating of the hotel but do not exceed CHF 4.60 per adult per night.
The Tourist Tax is generally paid directly to the accommodation upon check out.
In return for paying the Tourist Tax, guests will receive a Bern Ticket which entitles them to free public transport within the city as well as free travel on the Gurten funicular, Marzilibahn funicular, the elevator to the terrace of the Bern Minster, and free transport to/from Bern Airport.
