Hiking trails mentioned in this episode

>> Ebenalp to Seealpsee hike – Located in Appenzellerland in Eastern Switzerland, this hiking trail has become famous thanks to the Aescher Gasthof, a restaurant built into a cliff face, and the crystal clear Alpine lake, Seealpsee. The trail is a mountain trail with a T3 classification and Tanya does not recommend it for inexperienced hikers. Read Tanya’s guide to the Ebenalp to Seealpsee hike.

Alternative trails: Ebenalp to Schรคfler Hut trail; Wasserauen to Seealpsee trail.

>> Stoos Ridge hike – Very famous on social media for its stunning views, the Stoos Ridge hike connects Klingenstock and Fronalpstock above the village of Stoos in Central Switzerland. It’s a mountain trail with a T3 classification but is quite wide and Tanya believes it is suitable for anyone with good hiking experience. Read Tanya’s guide to the Stoos Ridge hike.

Alternative trails: Fronalpstock Panorama trail; Rigi Panorama trail; Schynige Platte trail (different region but similar views).

>> Hardergrat Ridge hike – Commonly known as the most dangerous hike in Switzerland, if not the world, this trail should only be attempted by experienced mountaineers. The trail connects Interlaken and Brienzer Rothorn and is 24-kilometres long. Sections of the trail are designated as an Alpine trail but the 8-kilometre middle section has no rating, such is its difficulty. Read Tanya’s 10 reasons not to do the Hardergrat Ridge hike.

Alternative trails: Brienz Rothorn Ridge trail; ‘mini Hardergrat’ from Harder Kulm to Augstmatthorn; Schynige Platte Ridge trail.
