Jungfrau Region towns and villages mentioned in this episode

>> Grindelwald – the largest of the Jungfrau Region’s towns, Grindelwald is situated at the foot of the Eiger and is a starting point for excursions to Jungfraujoch, First, Männlichen and Pfingstegg, amongst others.

>> Lauterbrunnen – famous for its Staubbach Falls, Lauterbrunnen is located in the valley of the same name and is nestled between towering cliff faces. It is the starting point for the excursion to the Schilthorn.

>> Wengen – this car-free village above Lauterbrunnen can only be reached by train. Numerous mountain peaks can be easily reached from Wengen and it offers wonderful views of the Lauterbrunnen Valley. Each January, Wengen is home to the World Cup Ski race, the Lauberhorn Run.

>> Mürren – another car-free village, this time on the other side of the Lauterbrunnen Valley, Mürren sits on a sunny terrace with incredible views to the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau peaks. This charming Alpine village is home to the Schilthorn and can be reached either by cable car and train from Lauterbrunnen, or by cable from Stechelberg, a little further along the valley.

>> Meiringen and Haslital – the villages of the Haslital, which includes Meiringen, are lesser-known than those mentioned above. A little further away from the famous peaks of Jungfraujoch and Schilthorn, but still only 30 minutes from Interlaken, there are plenty of wonderful mountain views, gorges and waterfalls to enjoy in this part of the Jungfrau Region.
