Looking for accommodations in Switzerland? In this episode I share my thoughts on three hotels I recently had the pleasure of staying at.
My recent trip to Switzerland included stays at B2 Hotel Zurich (surely one of the coolest hotels in Switzerland with its unique 33,000-book library), Glacier Hotel Grindelwald and Volkshaus Basel.
Each of these Swiss hotels has its own personality and style, from urban chic to cosy accommodation in the Swiss Alps, and all delivered a comfortable, relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable stay.
If you are trying to choose hotels in Zurich, Grindelwald or Basel, tune in to learn why I loved these properties. You’ll then be adding them to your Switzerland hotel booking list!

A brief summary of the hotels mentioned in this episode
B2 Hotel, Zurich
The 4* star B2 Hotel is located in Zurich’s Enge district with easy access to the Old Town and main train station. The hotel, which is housed in a former brewery, has 60 rooms and suites.
A library, where you’ll find 33,000 books, is the heart and soul of the hotel, and this is also where breakfast is served daily. Meals and drinks are also available throughout the day.
Adjoining the hotel is the Hürlimannbad and Spa wellness centre featuring two indoor thermal pools and a rooftop infinity pool.
The wellness centre is popular with both locals and guests, making B2 Boutique Hotel and Spa an ideal place to stay in Zurich.

Glacier Hotel and Restaurant, Grindelwald
With its location facing directly at the Eiger North Face, the views from the Glacier Boutique Hotel Grindelwald can’t be beaten. This 4* Superior hotel offers everything you’d expect from a modern hotel with a cosy, Alpine vibe.
There are 28 rooms of varying categories including five Signature rooms which each have their own private terrace and whirlpool.
There are two restaurants and a lounge area featuring floor to ceiling windows to take in those amazing views, a fitness room and a wellness centre.
The latter boasts a Finnish sauna, steam room, waterbeds and an outdoor whirlpool. Hotel guests have complimentary use of the wellness centre.

Volkshaus Basel
Designed by renowned architects Herzog and de Meuron, Volkshaus Basel is a modern hotel with 1920s flair. The hotel features 45 spacious rooms and suites each with individual art and design pieces, and a Gin bar.
Located in the lively Kleinbasel district, just over the Rhine River from the Old Town, the hotel is the perfect base to explore the city and its many museums.
When it’s time to eat, you don’t need to go far to find a restaurant. Volkshaus Basel’s Brasserie serves delicious French and Swiss cuisine, and the IMI Bar is the perfect place for a drink before dinner.
Both the restaurant and bar also feature individually designed pieces keeping with the hotel’s strong emphasis on art and design. Website: volkshaus-basel.ch
