Getting to Mt. Pilatus
In this episode you’ll learn about the different ways to reach Mt. Pilatus and the operating dates for each mode of transport. The mountain can be accessed by gondola and cable car from Kriens and by cogwheel train from Alpnachstad. Both departure points have easy connections to Lucerne by public transportation.
Activities at Mt. Pilatus
There are numerous activities and things to do on Mt. Pilatus and at the intermediate stations at Krienseregg and Fräkmüntegg. These include hiking and adventure activities in summer, an interactive Dragon World, as well as sledging and snow shoeing in winter.
Views from Mt. Pilatus
The views from Pilatus Kulm, the summit of the mountain at 2,132 metres above sea level, are spectacular. As well as the Panorama Terrace, which is located beside the cable car and train stations, there are three higher viewing points at Oberhaupt, Esel and Tomlishorn. The sunset and sunrise views over Lucerne and Lake Lucerne are breathtaking.
