Swiss Travel Pass Free Travel Days Promotion

Buy a 4-day first class pass and get an extra travel day free, or buy an 8-day 1st class pass and get two extra travel days free. Travel period: 1 October, 2025 and 31 March, 2026.

The Swiss Travel Pass gives you unlimited travel on all public transport in Switzerland (trains, buses, boats, trams), 3 free mountain excursions, 50% off most other mountain excursions, museum entries, and more!

Changes to Swiss rail passes for 2026

Swiss Travel Pass

  • Price increase by 5% for 2026 (applies to all variations of Swiss Travel Pass)

Swiss Half Fare Card

  • Price increase from CHF 120 to CHF 150

Berner Oberland Pass

  • No price increase
  • Includes cogwheel train to Schynige Platte
  • No longer includes Kandersteg-Oeschinensee cable car
  • No longer includes Brig-Domodossola train

Jungfrau Travel Pass

  • No price increase
  • High season connecting ticket from Eiger Glacier to Jungfraujoch now applies from 1 May to 31 October and will be CHF 79
  • Low season connecting ticket will cost CHF 63

Tell Pass (to be renamed Lucerne Travel Pass from 1 April, 2026)

  • Will be valid all year round – no longer a summer and winter version
  • 2-day pass will no longer be available (only 3, 4, 5 and 10 days)
  • Price adjustments will take effect on 1 April, 2026

The current Summer Tell Pass will be valid until 31 October, 2025 and the Winter Tell Pass will be valid for the final time from 1 November, 2025 until 31 March, 2026.

Other Swiss rail updates for 2026

Point-to-point tickets

  • Prices for point-to-point journeys will not have any price increases so full price tickets and 50% discounted tickets will be the same as 2025.

Gotthard Panorama Express

  • Daily service in 2026 from mid-April to mid-October (previously no Monday service).

Glacier Express

  • Seat reservation fee for all journeys now CHF 54 per person (1st & 2nd class)
  • Supplement for Excellence Class now CHF 540 per person

Bernina Express

Seat reservation fees:

  • Short journey – St. Moritz/Tirano and v.v. (14.12.2025 – 12.12.2026) now CHF 32 per person
  • Long journey – Chur/Tirano and v.v. (peak season 2.05.2026 – 25.10.2026) now CHF 44 per person
  • Long journey – Chur/Tirano and v.v. (off-peak 14.12.2025 – 01.05.2026 and 26.10.2026 – 12.12.2026) now CHF 40 per person
