Episode 17: Feeder Line trains to Switzerland and benefits of the Swiss Travel Pass
Interview with Andreas (Andy) Nef, Market Manager for Travel Switzerland (formerly called Swiss Travel System)
Travelling by train in Switzerland is fast, flexible and convenient and it is the preferred mode of transport for both locals and visitors.
With that in mind, I asked Andy Nef of Travel Switzerland to join me in this episode to answer some frequently asked questions about travelling to and from neighbouring countries by train, and to share all the benefits of the Swiss Travel Pass.
If you plan to travel by public transport in Switzerland – and that includes trains, buses, boats and trams – you’ll find Andy’s useful tips and advice very helpful.
Topics discussed in this episode include:
- Which countries connect to Switzerland with direct train lines
- Frequency of the feeder line services
- What type of ticket to buy for the non-Swiss sector if you hold a Swiss Travel Pass
- When you should purchase the fare for the non-Swiss sector of your journey
- All the benefits of the Swiss Travel Pass – “It’s not just a rail pass”
