Born and raised in Emmental, Martina Fuhrer got to know the tourism industry during a winter season in Saas Fee, and she was immediately hooked! After a few years in Zermatt, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Tourism and then worked in London and Interlaken.

Since 2017, Martina has been living in beautiful Montreux Riviera which she describes as ‘my little paradise’. She is very proud to have represented the region for more than 7 years as Business Development Manager at Montreux-Vevey Tourism.

>> Alimentarium – the world’s first museum dedicated entirely to food, Alimentarium in located on the lake front at Vevey. This unique museum offers interactive exhibits on nutrition, food history, and the science behind what we eat. Visitors can learn about culinary traditions or take part in hands-on workshops.

>> Chaplin’s World – just a short trip from Montreux, Chaplin’s World in Vevey is an unmissable tribute to the life and legacy of Charlie Chaplin. Set in the comedian’s former home, this engaging museum combines film, exhibits, and immersive sets to bring Chaplin’s career and personal life to life.

>> Lavaux vineyards – this UNESCO World Heritage site stretches along the terraced slopes above Lake Geneva, providing stunning views of the lake and mountains. >> GoldenPass Express scenic train to Interlaken – this panoramic train journey connects Montreux with Interlaken in just over three hours. From the palm trees of the Montreux Riviera, the GoldenPass Express passes through the lush green Simmental Valley before arriving in the the Bernese Oberland.

>> Rochers-de-Naye excursion – the ‘home’ mountain of Montreux, Rochers-de-Naye is reached by a scenic cogwheel train ride. At the summit, visitors are rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of Lake Geneva and the Alps, as well as hiking trails and even a marmot wildlife park.

>> Montreux Jazz Festival – this world-renowned music event attracts an incredible lineup of artists to the shores of Lake Geneva each July. What was once a jazz-only festival has expanded to feature diverse music genres, which draw music lovers from around the globe.

>> Montreux Christmas Market – the lakeside promenade is the location for Montreux Noël, Montreux’s Christmas market. With over 150 stalls selling artisanal gifts, festive treats, and mulled wine, plus the opportunity to see Santa and his sleigh fly above the lake each evening, this is one of the best Christmas markets in Switzerland.
