Episode 82: Visiting Switzerland with kids
In this episode of the Holidays to Switzerland Travel Podcast our guest is Carrie Nicholes who recently returned from a family trip to Switzerland.
Despite only spending five days in Switzerland, Carrie and her family were able to visit numerous places and enjoy some wonderful experiences whilst creating lasting memories along the way.
In this chat with Carrie, she shares her itinerary and all the highlights of her trip, and she has some handy tips for other families considering a Swiss vacation, too.

Day 1
Carrie and her family flew into Geneva and then visited Montreux and Chateau Chillon before driving to Gruyeres and visiting the Maison Cailler chocolate factory.
They stayed overnight near Fribourg at Hotel La Croix Blanche.
Day 2
After looking around Fribourg, the family drove to Lake Thun where they enjoyed a lake cruise and visit to Oberhofen Castle.
They stayed overnight in Grindelwald at Chalet Carve (where they based themselves for 3 nights in total).
Day 3
Using their Berner Oberland Pass for free cable car rides, Carrie and her family spent the day in the mountains at Mรคnnlichen (where the kids enjoyed playing at the excellent playground) and Wengen.
Day 4
Visits to Mรผrren, Allmendhubel (and its adventure playground) and Lauterbrunnen were on todayโs itinerary, as was a swim in Lake Brienz. All transport was free thanks to their Berner Oberland Passes.
Day 5
For their last full day in Switzerland, the family drove to Zermatt. They visited Sunegga on Rothorn mountain where the kids enjoyed playing at the Wolli Park, and later strolled around the old part of Zermatt.
Overnight accommodation in Zermatt was at Alpen Resort.
Day 6
Carrie and her family travelled to France to continue their trip.
