Family-friendly activities mentioned in this episode

>> Playgrounds – both Männlichen and Allmendhubel have excellent playgrounds and Hana has some other great suggestions including one at Elm in canton Glarus and one at Mooraculum Sörenberg.

>> Rope parks – children as young as 4 years old can test their skills at many rope parks in Switzerland. Popular courses can be found at Mt. Pilatus, Laax, Balmberg and even in cities like Zurich and Bern.

>> Rodelbahns – toboggan runs (rodelbahns is the German name) are loved by adults and children of all ages. Mt. Pilatus, Pfingstegg and Glacier 3000 are just a few of the locations where you’ll find toboggan runs. Hana’s article mentions more locations.

>> Zip lines – many playgrounds have easy zip lines for younger children but there are also dedicated zip line courses for older children and adults. Mt. Pilatus, First and Pfingstegg (Grindelwald), and Trübsee (Mt. Titlis) are just some of the places you’ll find zip lines in Switzerland.

>> Marble runs Hasliberg, near Meiringen, is a paradise for families and is home to one of the best marble runs in Switzerland. There’s another excellent marble run at Charmey in canton Fribourg.

>> Mountain scooters – sometimes called Trottibikes, mountain scooters are scooters with fat tyres and brakes. One of the most popular mountain scooter tracks in Switzerland is at Grindelwald First but there are also tracks at many other mountain destinations. Rothorn above Zermatt, Mt. Niederhorn, Leukerbad and Mooraculum Sörenberg are some of the other places you will find them.

>> Theme trails – activities and interesting facts on a particular theme are designed to encourage children to hike with enthusiasm. Themes include witches, dwarves, storybook characters and animals, and themed hiking trails can range from a couple of kilometres to around 15 kilometres in length. They are located all across the country
